“Umpqua’s Mayport Select Shrimp pattern was created specifically to be fished in shallow zones where fish are feeding but also prone to spook. The fly lands softly, has a deliberate sink rate and incorporates materials that move and pulse with little input from the angler. The ideal presentation to a skinny water red would be to lead it by two to three feet and slowly intercept the fish allowing it to discover the fly.
